The Tipping Point Mind map
For Design studies we were given an assignment where we had to look at and do a mind map on the book 'The Tipping Point' by Malcolm Gladwell. I enjoyed reading the book and found it very interesting and insightful in a numbers of different areas. I thought that it looked at areas and topics that I wouldn't have thought of researching and that wouldn't have been part of my thinking. I also found aspects of the book very revealing into peoples behavior and the ways in which they think. We were instructed to look at 'The Mind Map Book' by Tony and Barry Buzan and use their techniques and layouts for doing mind maps. My first mind map is just a general overview of the book and the different chapters and areas within these chapters that the book looks at.
For my second mind map I chose to look at the chapter entitled 'The Law of the Few'. I chose to look at this chapter in more detail as I found it very intriging, especially when it looks at the different types of people; connectors, mavens and salemans. And the ways in which these types of peoples create different affects due to their behaviour and personalities. I think this is a book which allows you to look at the world in a different way and it gave me a good insight in to new and unexplored areas.
